Nick Losseff trained at St Thomas' Hospital London and qualified in 1988. After general medical training he pursued neurology, receiving further training at Kings, St Thomas, UCH and The National Hospital.

He was Lecturer in Neurology at the Institute of Neurology between 1992 and 95 and was previously awarded the Queen Square Prize in Neurology and The European Neurology Society prize for his research.

He has been a consultant since 2000 and runs an active "general" neurology practice (diagnosis and treatment of headache, seizures, dizziness, funny turns, numbness, tremor etc) but also sub specialises in stroke, TIA, vascular neurology and AVM's.

Nick Losseff has held several leadership positions in the NHS. He was formerly clinical lead for Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology. He played a major role in the implementation of new stroke services in London as Interim London Clinical Director for Stroke and lead of the North Central London Stroke Clinical Network.  He is currenty clinical lead of the UCL Hospitals comprehensive stroke service and sector clinical director for secondary care in North Central London.
